...THE PLACE of WORK -
        in our lives as full contemplatives
Christ the Carpenter Jesus the Carpenter

Jesus was born into a working family. For long years He worked with His hands, and this work of the Son of God had a Redemptive value. ;
United to that of Christ our work too has a Redemptive value and in that consideration we find a deep joy.

...By our work we are united in our own way with those who labour and we show them the esteem which is their due.

...We work for our living and are able to share with those in need.

...Work also provides an indespensible balance in our life of contemplation.

...We perform the work assigned to us as a service of charity for the Community.  We bring to it all our ability.

...Each Nun conscientiously carries out the domestic tasks for which she is responsible and in doing this contributes to the happiness and peace of Community life.

    ...The work we do in the Monastery is compatible with the rhythm of our contemplative life and fits into the daily routine.

...We consider work to be an important element in our spiritual and contemplative life.  We do not seek profit but we desire to witness before God and mankind the outstanding dignity of human work.

    ...Work is carried out according to modern techniques and necessary training is provided.  The development of the special talents and skills of the Sisters is considered an important element in initial and ongoing Formation.
