THE ORDER OF THE MOST HOLY REDEEMER O.Ss.R.

(Redemptoristine Nuns)

The Order of the the Most Holy Redeemer is an enclosed Order of Pontifical Right with monasteries in many parts of the world. In Australia the Monastery of the Most Holy Redeemer is situated at Bolwarra Heights, N.S.W. overlooking the Paterson Valley.

In this peaceful rural setting, the nuns pursue a hidden, silent life of contemplative prayer and labour;

of adoration, intercession, expiation, thanksgiving and praise of God,

thereby sharing in Christ's mission of continuing redemption.

The Redemptoristines

The Redemptoristine nun is engaged in two hours of personal prayer and spiritual reading each day, in addition to the communal recitation of the Liturgy of the Hours. She has times of special solitude in the form of monthly and annual retreats, as well as time each day for communal recreation with her sisters. She is challenged to live in self-surrender to the Will of God in the ordinary events of daily life, in imitation of "Christ who emptied Himself even unto death" (Phil. 2 7-8); to make to Him a return of love for His Infinite Charity towards the human race.
