CONGREGATION OF THE POOR SISTERS OF NAZARETH:
"See the Divine Infant in the little ones: Love them very much for his sake; and in the dear elderly people see our Blessed Lady and St. Joseph". These are words of our Foundress, Mother St. Basil.
In imitating the Holy Family of Nazareth, we strive to live together in unity, peace and joy since the Church teaches us that... "a religious community is a true family, gathered together in the Lord's name and in His Presence" ...(Perfectae Caritatis 15).
In prayer, we come to know and love God more deeply. We pray individually through meditation, spending time before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, Scripture and spiritual reading. As a community we celebrate Liturgical Prayer, - including the divine Office - and we recite the Rosary.

Our particular apostolate is to provide a home for the elderly, for people with disabilities, and for the underprivileged. We also provide education for children. Our belief in the dignity and sacredness of life demands that we maintain and, where necessary, improve the quality of life of those committed to our care. We witness:
* To the inherent dignity of the human person.
* That life in Christ is the most important of all realities.
* That life reaches beyond time to eternal happiness.
We and our staff adhere to the Catholic philosophy of nursing care and we accept residents on the basis that this philosophy will be respected.
Our core values, rooted in the Gospel and in the charism of Mother St. Basil are patience, justice, respect, compassion, loyalty, hospitality, and humility.
We are an international Congregation with houses in America, Samoa, England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, South Africa, Zimbabwe, New Zealand and Australia.
